Remembering Albert Hadley

194949-2-03

In Memoriam

The staff of Lonny is saddened by the loss of Albert Hadley, a landmark designer of the 20th century. In 2010, we were honored to have the chance to meet and work with Mr. Hadley. Photographing his elegant Upper East Side apartment remains a high point in the life of this publication. A true gentleman and artist, Mr. Hadley will be greatly missed.

A Note from Robert Leleux, Features Director of Lonny

So many thrilling things have happened this week. I'm tremendously proud of our gorgeous new issue of Lonny, and it was also my great pleasure to appear last Sunday on NBC's "Open House New York," offering tips on decorating your home with family history without getting stuck in the past. You may recognize my apartment from Lonny's November/December issue; here's a link to the segment. I hope you enjoy!

Winter Reading

Bignewestbookc

We're so proud of Lonny's very own Robert Leleux, who published his second book today, The Living End: a Memoir of Forgetting and Forgiving.  Hailed as "one of the best prose stylists in America" by Pat Conroy, author of The Prince of Tides and South of Broad, Robert is well on his way to literary fame.  "Though it's a difficult and painful topic," Leleux says, "I'm excited to share my family's story. For us, forgiving and forgetting were more than usually intertwined, in the last few years." check it out here or catch robert on his book tour

Of the Moment: Valley of the Dolls

Pillpopper

If this isn’t a perfect prescription for style, we don’t know what is. Paying tribute to Valley of the Dolls, the pill motif is popping up everywhere, from Damien Hirst’s wallpaper to Fishs Eddy’s pill plates. So don’t operate any heavy machinery—though honestly, who wants to?—and start shopping. The only problem is these aren’t covered by health insurance.

1.Pills Small Oval Dish: $9.95; Fishs Eddy | 2. Silk Leggings in Pill Print by Jeremy Scott: $231; Forward by revolve | 3. Popped Pill Clutch: price upon request; Cynthia Rowley | 4. Dolls Canister: $28; Jonathan Adler | 5.  Pills Coasters (Set of 12): $3.95; Fishs Eddy

1. Brass Legs: $1,495; Kelly Wearstler | 2. Fornasetti Theme & Variations Decorative Plate #250: $185; Barneys | 3. Vertebrae Floor Lamp: price upon request; Porta Romana | 4. C'Mere Hand Hook by Harry Allen: $75; Areaware | 5. Nazareth Golden Bronze Centerpiece by Bernardaud: $19,200; Vivre
