Of the Moment: Campaign Style
November 22nd 2010Campaign furniture, designed to be folded and assembled with ease, has been used by traveling armies for centuries. Leave it to the British to step up the style factor, which they did in the 1800s by insisting that, in addition to portability, campaign furniture must be comfortable and beautiful for British officers traveling to faraway lands. Since then, campaign furniture has mostly languished, until recently when it’s been traveling to the runways and back again. As in Balmain's recent collection (pictured above), the campaign look has inspired designs of furniture, clothing, and accessories.
