Quistgaard Quest Quelled

Sarah_blog_1

After years of being outbid on eBay for one of the mid-century salt and pepper mills Jens Quistgaard designed for Dansk, I finally accepted my fate that I may never have one of these teak beauties to call my own. That is, until I learned of Crate & Barrel’s reissue of three of Quistgaard’s iconic designs! The store even added a few tweaks that make the mills even friendlier, such as replacing the teak with responsibly harvested acacia wood and adding a ceramic grinding mechanism. The Quistgaard mills look great on their own, but for $39.95 each it might be hard not to get all three and start a small village of Scandinavian salt and pepper grinders on your kitchen counter.

Sarah, if I'd only known...! Marilyn had two of them (we got them at a Dansk outlet on CC in the '80s). Different shapes, though. We ended up (gasp!) giving them away when they (rather quickly) stopped working.
