The Mondrian SoHo

(download)
There are moments when we wish we weren't based in New York, just so we could take advantage of its fabulous hotels. The Morgans Hotel Group, responsible for some of the chicest hotels from the East coast to West, has recently unveiled its debut hotel property in downtown Manhattan: the Mondrian SoHo. A collaboration with renowned interior designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, the Mondrian SoHo is bold, visionary and dream-like.

Noriega-Ortiz drew inspiration from Jean Coucteau's 1946 French fantasy film "La Belle et la Bete." With powdery blue walls, feathered chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling windows, the entire space evokes romance, drama and fantasy. This may just be the perfect excuse for a getaway, even if it's only a subway stop away.

What a treat it would be to stay there, last time I was in NYC, we stayed in Soho and loved being in that area...but staying here would definitely be ideal!

Love the Carrera marble in the bathroom; it always looks clean and modern!
